Office Solutions now Neopost Postal Machine Dealer
Office Solutions now
Neopost Postal Machine Dealer
Output Solutions of Central
America Ltd (OSCA) – the regional partner for Neopost - is pleased to announce
the appointment of Office Solutions Barbados as their dealer for the Neopost
range of digital postage meter technology (or
Digital franking machines) in Barbados.
Office Solutions with two
locations (the Copy Centre in Coconut Walk, Hastings and their administrative
offices in Searles, Ch. Ch) are well known for their relationship with Toshiba
Copiers and Printers. Office Solutions
is a major player in the print world and this relationship now gives them
additional products and services for their large client base.
The Neopost franking machine is
certified by the Barbados Post Office as an official supplier of electronic
postage. Clients with these machines can
pay the post office for postage which is then automatically downloaded into the
machine for immediate use. This saves
time, no need to take the machine to the post office for re-filling postage (as
was required with the older manual machines), better security ensuring only authorized
use (this reduces losses due to unauthorised use), better reporting (accurate
reporting on mail sent out) and accurate allocation of postage (ie
automatically weighs the letter applying the correct postage). Furthermore
customers will now have the Post Office rates and products loaded directly on
their machines allowing the correct postage to be accurately and efficiently
dispensed each time.
Charles Cox, Managing Director of
Office Solutions expressed his delight with the new range of products and said
his sales team are in the field speaking to customers – especially companies
with the older range of manual machines (Neopost and others) supplying easy
upgrades and trade ins.
“Office
Solutions are pleased to be a part of this project with the Barbados post
office and look forward to actively working with our customers and to managing
the implementation of new technologies in this field” he added. Cox complimented the post office on their
move to drive efficiency in mailing.

Streamline adds new capabilities: colour printing and faster returned mail processing
Streamline Solutions, the largest mail processing company in the Caribbean, recently announced two new services for its clients: colour printing and faster returned mail processing.
We has enhanced its print capabilities with dynamic colour printing from its three processing hubs: Jamaica, Trinidad and Barbados outlined Natalie Pires, Managing Director Streamline Caribbean. This will allow Streamline to dynamically print content in colour for its transactional and promotional mail items.
Adrian Recas, GM Streamline Jamaica, added that returned mail was one of the largest problems bulk mailers faced in the region. The lack of structure and poor quality in many of the address meant that as much as 10% of the mail was returned each month. He outlined that Streamlime has introduced a number of new features to efficiently track mail from source to post allowing for a faster and more automated method of identifying the returned mail, linking it back to the client's address, supressing the mail (until its rectified) and fixing the problem.

CarIFS productivity compared to Barbados road network
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Monday January 23, 2012 - Caribbean Integrated Financial Services, know as CarIFS, continues to provide a world class financial service to every Barbadian. So says Mike Parris, Director of Prism Services Inc. which manages and operates the island’s National debit network.
Created over 11 years ago, the CarIFS financial network has made Barbados more productive bringing huge National gains to the Barbadian economy, Parris said. When we created the service in June 1999, Bajans wasted millions of unproductive hours queuing to receive and access their money. Today, he said, most companies now pay staff through direct bank transfer, allowing individuals to draw wages directly from ATMs or purchase goods at CarIFS merchant terminals outside of banking hours and irrespective of an individual’s bank.
Barbadians can access their money, more securely, quicker and more conveniently any time of day or nightParris said, this is a real “National Treasure”. CarIFS has successfully created domestic savings for the country in the financial arena equivalent to those time savings gained if we could remove all the waiting time associated with round-abouts, stop lights, restricted passing zones and road works on our roads today. He said, consider how much more efficient Barbados could be if we were able to remove the impediments on our road system as we have been able to achieve on our financial systems. “It’s worth millions”, he said.
Barbadians can access their money, more securely, quicker and more conveniently any time of day or night. The CarIFS network was conceived and created by Bajans. It sustains 20 local jobs and conforms to and exceeds world financial standards being audited by international banks, financial institutions and The Central Bank of Barbados. Since 1999, CarIFS has maintained 100% uptime even in the face of hurricanes, power failures or telecommunications glitches. This has ensured confidence in Bajans with last year recognising 15% increase in activity for 71% of the local households.
Parris said, in 2011, the country transacted over Bds$319 Million from personal accounts across 3 million CarIFS transactions. He said this represents about 1,300 time-saving secure transactions in every productive hour of the year.
As international brands like Visa debit start to appear on the local scene, Parris drew note to cardholders and merchants that the use of CarIFS continues to foster huge national savings, reduced cost, keeps locals employed and stem foreign exchange outflows for processing services. CarIFS links to all retail banks in Barbados including the Barbados Public Workers Cooperative Credit Union and The City of Bridgetown Credit Union thus providing access to 90% coverage for local convenience.
